Saturday, November 8, 2025 | 5pm–9:30pm
In a lavish culinary collaboration, Restaurant 1796's Chef Nick Kent will welcome Eric Cook, Chef/Owner of award-winning Gris Gris New Orleans, and author of the acclaimed Modern Creole cookbook. During this year's Visiting Chef Dinner, Cook and Kent will deliver a sophisticated five-course tour of contemporary Southern flavors, paired with fine wines, cocktails, and spirited entertainment.

Chef Eric Cook - Gris Gris
Filling an extremely narrow, nuanced niche in New Orleans’ restaurant landscape, Gris-Gris has become a local favorite, garnering instant recognition in 2018 as Eater New Orleans’s Readers Choice for Restaurant of the Year and Chef of the Year, New Orleans City Business’s Restaurant of the Year. In 2019, New Orleans Magazine and TimeOut.com named Gris-Gris one of the city’s Best Restaurants.
